Hello again; I hope you have been well since my last post. Today, I’m going to update you on the conclusion to the start to star video challenge that I recently participated in.
I should have posted this last week, but I am still recovering from the ill effects of a malfunctioning cpap machine. I am feeling more energetic every day and hope to soon be back on schedule with my blog posts.
Last time I shared about week one of Holly Gillen’s start to star video challenge. I shared the videos I recorded each day as part of the event. And this time I have more short videos for you.
Just like last time I will include two links. The first one will be an embedded version that you can play without having to leave my site. The second will be a direct link to the youtube video.
And now I guess you would like to know if I won or not. I did say that there was a free seat in Holly’s upcoming online course to the winner. Well, I didn’t win the contest. But if you have been folloiwng me long at all, you know I still feel like it was a success.
I got a lot of valuable experience. A writer writes every day or should. So someone like me who aspires to be a youtube or podcasting star should also record video every day. That doesn’t mean I will post it that often, but I should at least turn the camera on and put in some practice time every day.
Week two videos
The question was if you could meet anyone living or dead, who would it be? I mistakenly thought celebrities. I mentioned many favorites personal and those I’d like to know but settled on Wayne Dyer because he lives in Hawaii and I would love to visit there.
Question 10 was what do you do to relax. I don’t do any one thing, so i mentioned several concluding with the good feeling that comes from a long hot shower followed by a really good cup of coffee.
This time the subject was create a montage of your day. This was beyond my skills with images or video, so i decided to walk people through what i consider a usual day for me.
The question this time was what are you listening to. The point was to find out what podcasts and podcasters we are following.
This time the question was if you could meet any celebrity who would it be. I chose ellen because of her commitment to causes and the fact that she often spotlights what some would consider ordinary every day people.
Day 14 was what is your best trait. I decided that for me that means being able to find the good in just about any situation.
The final question was what is your big goal for 2015. I have more than one and don’t know exactly which one I am meant to fulfill. Maybe its all of them. I’ve learned not to put limits on God. And I do sing in this video.
I learned that I need to work more on my videos. I found out that if I record every day or most every day I get more comfortable each time. And a pleasant bonus is that the more I listen to my voice in play backs the better I like it. And I’m not just talking about my singing voice.
Most of us have heard that writers should write every day. Well, this video challenge has definitely proven to me that practice is mandatory. So, I will be writing and recording more often. I may not upload it all, but I will be getting in my practice.
And since I aspire to share my story with people through public speaking I also need to practice that often. I hope some of you will be willing to check out the trial runs and give me feed back.
Questions and answers
To that end I want to start posting video answers to your questions. So, please leave me a comment with what you would like to know. I won’t say that nothing is off limits, but I’m generally known for being very open. Some would say I’m even too open especially online.
I’ll help get you started. You could ask about the amusement industry, my growing up as part of a carnival family, or some of my stories from back when I was a carney.
You could ask about how exactly I write this blog, send out my email newsletter, and record audios and videos.
You could ask about my experiences with various social media sites such as face book, twitter, Pinterest, etc.
We could always talk about my weight loss and some of the things the people at tlc taught me to help me be successful.
There is the ebook and the process of getting it online and in print. And I’m sure you have some ideas of your own.
Sharing is caring
As always I really appreciate your taking the time to read this post. And I would love it if you would share it with your friends and family. I hope that in some small way I am continuing to motivate and inspire others. And I can only do that if people hear about my work. So thanks for your help in spreading the word.
I’m always here for you. Whether you have a problem that you want me to listen to or even help you find a solution to or whether you just want to say hello and have a good conversation about anything under the sun. I hope you know that.
Thanks and take care out there, Max
