Hello again;
Well, its been a long time coming, but its finally here. My visit with the members of the student blogging society at Kent University took place last month. And I hope you enjoy watching or listening to our exchange.
Since this is another example of how you can use interviews to reach new audiences, share your story, and build your brand; I hope you won’t mind my reminding you about my online course where you too can learn just how to become a podcast and radio star.

This all started about a year ago when I posted a listing on Blogger Link Up.
The ad is gone now because they updated their system and purged all the old ads. Also, I’m told the site isn’t near as active as it was back then anyway.
But I posted a profile saying I was available for public speaking either in person, via skype, or over a google hangout.
Mario, the president of the society, reached out to me with a crazy idea. He offered to have me give a speech live over skype to student in the United KIngdom thousands of miles and several time zones away.
Yes, I mentioned skype in the ad, but I didn’t expect to be addressing a large audience when I made that offer.
It turned out that neither of us had considered all that would be involved.
It turned out that the process of getting established on campass was more involved and took longer than Mario expected. We also later found out that Kent University doesn’t allow people to give public talks on campass without checking them out and in some cases approving what they are going to say.
So, Mario came up with a compromise. He offered to do a question and answer session that would be recorded, edited, and then uploaded to the group’s face book page.
We finally got everything straight and the day came. It was over so soon. But I answered all the questions they had, and I’m not known for giving brief answers. They thought it went really well.
They had some problems editing it. It turned out that the program they used to record our call only captured my side of the call.
Like I told Mario if it had to leave out half the call it was good they at least got my answers.
So, they had Mario ask the questions on camera and then edited it all together. I think it came out really well.
I was happy to be able to share my knowledge and experience with so many young people. It seems I inspired many of them just like I usually do with older audiences. And I have been impressed with their level of interaction on face book, linked in and twitter since the call ended.
Mario was good enough to send me the video so I could have it for my archive and so I could share it so more people could benefit from it. I am hopeful that this time next year I may be able to visit with some of them in person. And I did challenge them to reach out to other blind bloggers who live in their area and who are probably even attending their university.
I hope you get something out of the session. I would be even happier if something I said here would help someone else who is starting out with blogging. Whether you are still thinking about starting a blog or you have one and are stuck getting the results you had hoped for; then please check out this interview.
Sharing Is Caring
I am very appreciative any time someone goes out of their way to offer me an opportunity to share my experiences. These young people went quite a bit out of their way, so I would really love to see their efforts rewarded. Please share the video and or audio with your friends, family, coworkers, and social media networks. Consider it my Christmas present.
If you have a podcast, radio show, tv show, blog, magazine, etc that needs an inspiring guest; then I hope you will get in contact me. As I told a radio host yesterday you have to be available if you want to be famous. Fame isn’t my primary goal, but the more I tell my story the more people I can help out there.
And if you have questions, Just Ask
I love meeting new people and making new friends, so you don’t have to have a real reason to make contact. I also believe that its better for me to answer people’s questions then to have them guess. Maybe you have a question no one has asked me yet. I find that I also learn more about myself when answering new or unusual questions.
Well, that’s it for today. I know you have lots of demands on your time, so thanks so much for deciding to spend some of it on me.
Also, thanks for your continued love and support of me and my mission.
Until next time take care out there, Max
Hi Maxwell,
I am so glad that the video came to be despite all the hurdles that you had to go through.
Great information in the Q&A – many bloggers give up because they find that blogging is harder than they think.
By sharing your process you are helping so many – thanks for the tips!

Hello; thanks so much for the encouragement. Its never easy to know just how well a talk has gone until your friends let you know. so thanks for being a good friend and telling me it helps other bloggers. that means a lot. and considering it was almost a year in the making its easy to get too excited or too invested. I think I did a good job staying focused and not getting too excited. thanks again, max
Hi Max — I’m glad your speaking business is going so well. You’ve worked hard at it and I’m happy for you. Much success to you in 2016.
