Hello again
This post is a response to a suggestion from Ronda Andrews, host of Speak Life Radio. She suggested that I may not be getting the results out of my radio appearances because I’m depending on people finding them from my as seen online page.
She suggested that I start writing a short blog post every time I do a podcast, radio show, or write a guest post. She said this way anyone subscribed to my rss feed will be automatically alerted to your appearances.
This week I was blessed to be featured on three radio shows. Yes, even I’m a bit amazed by the number of people who want me to tell my story on their shows. I thought I would right one post to tell you about all three of them.
And you may notice that I included two ways for you to listen. You can listen to them on my site by using the embedded audio players. Or you can click the direct link and listen on the show host’s site. This may be easier if you want to fast forward as you can download the audio from their pages.
Positive Living Vibrations Radio
Here is where you can listen to my talk with Sarah Troy creator and host of Positive Living Vibrations. She has a lovely british accent, and we had an amazing hour long conversation.
We talked about my background and how I became the blind blogger. We talked about my message of do what you can today and do more tomorrow. And I feel like I did some good with this show.
I should also mention that one of the things that makes Sarah special is that she didn’t realize her own true purpose until late in her life. She is now in her 60’s and feels blessed to improve the world by giving people like me a place to share our stories.
Out on the Limb Radio
This is where you can find my interview with Dr. Nicola Bird on her show Out on the Limb Radio. I am her second guest. Each interview last about 30 minutes.
The show’s theme was buying a golden ticket to chase your dreams. I couldn’t have been more perfect for this show.
It was a solid show. We talked more about my journey in reference to the role God has played in my life. I think one of the best points is my thoughts about my blindness and what it says about God and his plans for us here on earth.
Speak Life Radio
This is where you can hear my appearance on Ronda Andrews show Speak Life Radio. The interview lasts about an hour, and its one of the best I’ve ever done. It was right up there with my time on Join Up Dots with David Ralph.
I had a great time. Ronda has a naturally engaging interview style. She is warm and personable. And it doesn’t hurt that we laughed quite a bit while talking. She really puts herself into bringing the audience a powerful show.
And I want to encourage you to stick around for her second guest Dr. Sharon Hummer. I say this for two reasons. One, her talk about her experience with a child of autism and the work she is doing with their families is important. Two, because her and Ronda refer back to some of the things I said during their talk.
This was a busy week with three radio shows and a return to blogging and blog commenting. I hope I am finally over whatever was draining my energy and making it difficult to do the things I know I need to be doing to be successful.
I started to say I don’t have another show scheduled until June, but then I looked at or that is listened to the calendar on my laptop; and I realized that June is just a few days away. After that one though my schedule is pretty open.
Lessons learned
I know it shouldn’t be new to me, but these shows have reenforced in me the belief that I am an inspiration and more people need to hear my story. So, I will continue to send out those pitch emails and gratefully appear on more radio shows to share my story of hope and do my best to motivate people to take those small steps they need to start their own journeys. There are far too many great characters out there who just need a little help writing their own story. And I’m going to be here to help those I can.
I also have to remind myself that all things need to be done in moderation. While one of these shows was recorded the previous week, having three in one week might be a bit too much for me and my fans. So, unless something really good comes along that I just can’t say no to; I plan to only book one of these shows a week. And that should also leave me more time for writing new blog posts, recording new videos, creating the intro video I’ve been promising, converting the book into a video series, etc.
book now
That means if you have a blog, podcast, radio or tv show you want me to appear on; then you should contact me right away to schedule it. I can be reached at 979-215-1770, and on Skype I am Maxwell Ivey with a space between and both first letters capitalized.
I love to help people out, and I understand that sometimes technical issues come up or people can’t go on. And if that happens I am up for filling in last minute.
I hope no one thinks I’m getting a big head. I am just starting to realize that there are a lot of great people out there with amazing sites who need uplifting, inspiring, motivating guests and guest authors like me.
Sharing is caring
This is the point where you expect me to ask you to share this post with your friends, family, coworkers, and social media networks. Well, I have to do it, its like the McDonalds employee who asks you if you want fries with that. They sell a lot of fries. π
But this time I’d rather you visit the sites of these wonderful people who gave me a platform to connect with so many more people through their shows. These people put in incredible hours and work around commitments to jobs and families so they can fulfill a mission in life of their own.
I may be a reluctant hero, but these people really deserve my help and your support. I hope you will check them out. Who knows, you may make a new friend, gain a new opportunity, or be exposed to other guests that can enrich your life.
Well, that’s it for today. I hope you know that I am here for you. I want to hear about your successes, failures, and plans for comebacks. If you have questions for me, like the email address implies Just Ask
I love meeting new people and making new friends, so don’t feel like you have to need something to message me. And if I can dispel a myth by answering a ticklish question then you know where to find me.
Thanks so much for your continued interest in me and my story. I appreciate the time you spend and the trust you have invested. I’m doing my best to live up to them.
Until next time take care out there my friends, Max
I don’t have an As Seen On page on my blog like you do, but I do always re-blog and/or write a post, every time I do an interview or guest post somewhere. I think it is a good idea.

Hi Kerry; Thanks for your opinion. Looks like everyone agrees that I should be writing short posts each time I do one of these. I think I got a little complacent and it was just easier to post to the as seen online page especially since Lorraine was doing the posting. π take care my friend, max

Kerry, you should create an As Seen Online page, especially now that you are doing guest posting! You can call it your Appearances page, your As Seen Online page, or whatever you want.
And Max, you are doing great by getting your name out there through so many podcasts! Nicely done!
Oh, and I would like some fries, please.

okay; I’ll get right on that. reminds me of when i took that photo with penny. I had to say cheese so often that when it was through penny went and stood in front of the refrigerator. It was like she was saying you told me there would be cheese now open the door pull out the little drawer and get me some. π later max

Hi Marilyn; so glad you could listen to my interview. I appreciate your taking the time. Your encouragement is greatly appreciated. I tell people no matter how successful or together they may appear everyone can always use more encouragement. I do my best to inspire and motivate others. I just followed you on twitter and liked your face book page. I look forward to getting to know you better and seeing what I can do to help you your organization and its clients. thanks again, max

Hi Max,
Congratulations once again for yet another series now! π
You surely are going place my friend! My Goodness! These are all 3 in one week, and that is amazing. No, I couldn’t hear to all three, but I will over time, though the one I did was wonderful – you seem to be getting better each day with your radio interviews.
I agree, it would be a good idea to have one post per week and alternate it with one radio show, which would balance it all out I think. And yes, you surely are an inspiration to people, so always go ahead and share your story with others – the more lives you can touch this way, the better it gets.
Thanks for sharing it with us at the ABC too. Have a nice week ahead π

Hi Harleena; I appreciate your lovely thoughts. As one of my long time supporters and the source of the guest post that really got things rolling I am always keen to hear your thoughts. as i mentioned in the post and on the abc forum I do plan to only schedule one a week. I hadn’t thought about balancing my blog schedule, but you are right. this would give me more content and give people two different reasons to stop by. now i just need a catchy name for the radio show and hopefully tv show posts. got to keep dreaming don’t I? I know most people are too busy to listen to all of them. that’s why i posted them in order of my feelings about how well I did. I thought the one for speak life radio was awesome. and for anyone wanting to do radio or print interviews and share their stories remember the first time won’t be smooth or pretty but you can’t get to the second time without the first. thanks so much my sweet friend. <3 max

Max — you never cease to amaze me. Your enthusiasm and zest for life are contagious. I think social media has given you a new lease on life and you’re grabbing it. I admire you and what you’ve accomplished.

hi jeannette; i can feel the bubbles in your voice when you wrote that. or at least that’s how it sounded to me. i think that the single most important advancement for the visually impaired has been a combination of speech enabled computers and the internet. In hellen keller’s day she worked tirelessly to set up braille presses in other countries because at that time it was the best way to inform and educate the blind so they could become an active part of our national or international community. if she were alive now I’m sure she would be advocating for even more internet access and would be impressed with the iPhone. thanks for the comment my friend xoxo max

Max — I clicked on the Amazon link which took me to the page with your book. I bought the Kindle edition and read the book in one sitting because it was so inspiring. I didn’t email you after each exercise, but I have taken heart from your suggestions. I also wrote a 5-star review under the name I use for Amazon reviews, J. Antin. You can click on this link http://www.amazon.com/Leading-Darkness-Into-Light-Inspirational-ebook/dp/B00RUSCLTI/ref=cm_cr-mr-title to read my review. I encourage your other readers to buy your book.

hey Jeannette; People should know that you tried to buy my book through the selz link which failed for some reason. But you didn’t stop. You informed me of the problem. I asked you if you would use the amazon link instead, and unlike 95 percent of people you did. and then you loved the book and wrote me a 5 star review. I haven’t read the review yet, but I’m sure it rocks. I’ll email you afterwards. and thanks for giving me a big smile and that chill you get down your spine like when someone really nails the national anthem or something. I am not surprised that you didn’t email me after the exercises. Considering how accomplished you are I was unsure if you would get anything out of it. I’m happy you were inspired. Looking forward to seeing what is next in both of our stories. thanks so much, <3 Max

Hi Ryan; I really appreciate your comment. Yes i am always learning and in this case it was learning to do more to promote what i am up to. you would think a guy who grew up in the business of people like barnum wouldn’t need reminders or pointers on promoting. but you know me i admit my mistake and move forward. I have a goal this year for these appearances. I want to land one national radio show, tv show, or print magazine. Now, if I can just figure out who to pitch for those. Until then I’ll just have to keep being my inspiring self and hope that the shows I am going on will eventually lead to the big time. π thanks so much Ryan. you are one of my heroes, max
