This page is for telling you about my book, It’s Not the Cookie, It’s the Bag.
My editor Lorraine Reguly worked her magic on this second book of mine.
A Little About It
During the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day holidays; I heard all those ads on TV and radio for diet plans, fitness centers, exercise machines, workout videos, and the like. And it got me thinking if I could help people by sharing what I learned about losing weight and keeping it off while preparing to have gastric surgery. I decided that I did have something to offer people in this area which lead to my writing this book.
This is not strictly a diet book. It is more about living a well balanced healthy lifestyle in the midst of all the distractions and obstacles life has to offer.
There are chapters on making peace with your mirror, not being afraid of your scale, making exercise part of your daily schedule, including what I call modern meditation, having faith, building a support network, managing social situations, and finding non-food based rewards for successes.
In It’s Not the Cookie, It’s the Bag, blind man Maxwell Ivey Jr shares the ups and downs of his weight loss — and weight maintenance — journey to good health. He also reveals the exact methods he uses in his day-to-day life to achieve and maintain his phenomenal success.
Going from 512 pounds to a 250-pound, lean, mean machine in just two years, Max tells you how YOU can replicate his success and become the person you want to be… the person you were meant to be… the person you deserve to be… one small step at a time.
So what are you waiting for?
