I know its been a while since you have heard from me. I haven’t been posting new articles, recording new videos, or releasing my email newsletter. I won’t go into the reasons behind it, but let me just say I apologize.
I know that many of you find my work inspiring and depend on me to continue sharing my experiences to motivate you to keep going in your own lives. I have been struggling with a lack of energy, but I am starting to get it under control.
No, I don’t have any miracle drugs or new supplements you can take. I’m just doing what one of my doctors told me. He said Max when you feel like working, work your ass of. Then he said, when you don’t feel like working; then rest. Yep, its simple but most of the really good advice is.
So, on to today’s post. While I haven’t been creating my own content, I have continued to do interviews for podcast and radio shows and now for blab.
The links below are to an interview I did with Michael Babcock of yourownpay.com
I hope you enjoy it. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had. Thanks so much for asking me Michael.

A while back Michael told me he was starting to use some new live streaming platforms called perescope and blab. He said they were better than youtube because they were live and so much more interactive. He encouraged me to try them out.
I asked if they were strictly smart phone applications or if they had versions of their software for my laptop. He said well blab does but only if you use chrome for your browser. I only use safari on my mac as it is the most screen reader friendly. So, I put off trying either of these new networks.
Time went by and I continued to hear from m Michael about how interactive these new networks were especially blab. He challenged me to give it a try. He promised to interview me as part of a series he is doing spotlighting blind and visually impaired authors, business owners, athletes, advocates, etc.
So, I finally downloaded the blab app for my iphone this past week. I created an account and searched for some chats I might be interested in. I joined in a couple of those conversations and I was surprised by how easy it was.
I told Michael I was hooked and ready to schedule an interview. We got together last wednesday. He told me to expect it to last about a half hour and that he had a good assortment of what he thought would be unusual questions for me.
I settled in and prepared my mind. I thought well I’ve done dozens of interviews I doubt there are questions he can ask that I haven’t answered or don’t know the answers to. After all, its my life and my story. I should know all the answers. 🙂
Well, shortly after we started people started asking for permission to join the chat. You can have up to four people on at one time, and we had the limit for most of the length of the show. I met some awesome new people. We actually had a conversation covering a wide range of topics both blindness and business related.
I have done so many interviews. Many of them were recorded live with the host inviting people to call in with questions for their guest. It almost never happens. But on blab it does.
This leads to a more interactive experience that allows you to make new connections and really engage with the audience. I found it energizing even more so than how I usually feel after a standard interview. And the show ended up running an hour and a half. It only ended because Michael had another appointment he had to go to.
I don’t know if I will be doing anything on blab as a host, but its quickly becoming my favorite for interviews. And they do have a record feature, so you can post to youtube or to your podcast.
I want to thank Michael for so many reasons. First, he challenged me to try blab, and you all know how I love a good double dog dare. Its how my first book got started after all.
He had me on his show, and he is a great host and interviewer. He is also a fine ambassador for the blind and visually impaired community.
And not least of all he is a good friend who has learned from me and he has also inspired and motivated me. He is an energetic and imaginative online marketer who I strongly recommend you connect with. If you are a new or relatively new online business owner; then Michael has loads of great ideas. And if your business is not growing as fast as you hope it were, then he can help with that too.
I often find that someone outside the business can see opportunities that the owner can’t. And in my own life there have been several occasions when others saw possibilities for me long before I did.
Well, I am now a fan of blab and plan to use it more. I may do something on there. I quit doing hangouts on air because the technology was just too unreliable. And while there are sometimes audio glitches, it is no where near as bad as google was.
Once again, I have benefited by keeping my heart and mind open to new options and challenges. I love that I am at a point in my life where I can ask why not instead of saying no way.
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch, listen, or read my posts. I know you have lots of demands on your time, and I truly appreciate that you have decided to spend some of it on me. And if I can help you out, then please send me the link to your own projects.
